Meet the expert tour guides of A-1 Tours—professional, experienced, and passionate travel specialists dedicated to creating unforgettable journeys.

Hi, I’m Nancy!
I have been a licensed NYC TourGuide for over 20 years. I am originally from the idyllic town of Cooperstown, NY, but have always preferred the cosmopolitan vibe. Before New York, I lived in quite a few different spots; but nothing drew me to it as effortlessly as NYC. Nantucket, Seattle, Detroit, Nashville, Buenos Aires, and Telluride were all wonderful in their own way, but the diversity that NYC offers on every level to me is matchless!
I have been living in New York City for 25+ years in 4 of the 5 boroughs and love them all! Before becoming a guide, I worked as a freelance legal interpreter among many other jobs, and so have been navigating the city by train, foot and bus the entire time. Today, I specialize in tours in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and, of course, Manhattan. Manhattan tours (aside from Midtown) can cover the Financial District & 9/11 Memorial, the Chelsea Market and High Line with Hudson Yards, Greenwich Village, and Harlem. I also do a Gilded Age Mansion tour, museum overview tours, and an unforgettable Central Park Tour that shouldn’t be missed. For music fans, my Taylor Swift tour has been a hit with all ages! I love working with small groups with a private vehicle and driver, and big groups on a bus (or off a bus!)
I provide tours in both English and Spanish. I enjoy working with first-timers and veterans alike, navigating their needs and introducing them to my favorite New York City things.
Besides showing people things, I also love to be shown around and have travelled extensively throughout Europe & North Africa, and Central and South America. I love taking tours when I travel, and incorporate the best of others’ tours into mine – Introducing guests to my favorite views, bites, treats, and hidden gems throughout the city that they would not otherwise have known. My life is like one long NYC walk, constantly discovering new neighborhoods in a city with over 350 new restaurants, in a city with nearly 18 thousand new people in a city with 8 and a half million. I love surprising people with pieces of the city that may previously have been unknown to them!

Hello, my name is Alvin!
I’m a licensed New York City Tour Guide with over 30 years of experience. As a native New Yorker who loves sharing the city I know best with visitors from around the world. My tours are tailored to showcase the city’s most iconic landmarks and, beyond that, make NYC unforgettable. I guide individuals and groups through Manhattan and all five boroughs, creating experiences that blend history, culture, and fun.
My tours cover Historic Harlem, where you can see legendary landmarks such as the Apollo Theater and the Abyssinian Baptist Church. With advanced notice, inside visits may be possible. While in Harlem, you may also drive by and learn the history of Striver’s Row, the first back middle class neighbourhood in Harlem, as well as Hamilton Heights/Sugar Hill. I also take guests to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty for a journey through history.
Downtown Manhattan offers another incredible adventure, featuring vibrant neighborhoods such as Chinatown and Little Italy, along with the Financial District, Wall Street, and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. I love showcasing the many sides of New York—from its historic roots to its modern marvels, from bustling cityscapes to serene green spaces. Walking the High Line combines stunning architecture with lush gardens, while Hudson Yards introduces you to the city’s newest retail and cultural hub. And of course, no visit is complete without exploring Central Park, where history and nature meet in the heart of Manhattan.
While touring Manhattan, I always recommend visiting at least one observatory to take in the incredible bird’s‑eye view of New York City. There are several great options — from the iconic Empire State Building and the classic Top of the Rock, to the newer and more modern One World Observatory, the artsy Summit One Vanderbilt, or The Edge, located in the upscale Hudson Yards.
Exploring the city with a focus on skyscrapers is another fantastic way to experience New York from a fresh perspective.
Beyond Manhattan, I offer immersive tours across New York City’s other boroughs. In the Bronx, guests can experience iconic sites like Yankee Stadium, the Hall of Fame for Great Americans at Bronx Community College, Arthur Avenue (the city’s real Little Italy), the New York Botanical Garden, and the historic Edgar Allan Poe Cottage. In Queens, highlights include Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, the renowned Louis Armstrong House Museum, and vibrant neighborhoods such as Astoria, Flushing, and Jackson Heights. And of course, Brooklyn—with its rich history and modern charm—offers landmarks like Fort Greene, the trendy waterfront district of DUMBO, the classic fun of Coney Island, and the world-famous Brooklyn Bridge.
I enjoy guiding all types of guests around the city – from families with children to corporate incentives. There is so much to see and do—something for everyone!
I also host food tours around the city upon request. Whether you want a culinary adventure, sightseeing, or a mix of both. My goal is to present the very best of New York City, giving guests an authentic and unique experience.

Hi, my name is Matt!
I am a native Brooklynite, a hardcore New York Tour Guide, and a small business owner for over twenty years, and I know New York City inside and out – especially if you are looking for food & drinks! I can tell you where the best of everything is! When I am not giving tours, you can find me on my bicycle searching high and low for the best street eats in Queens, the most interesting neighborhoods in Brooklyn to share with my clients, and after the bike ride is done, the tastiest cocktails. It’s all of this and more. I love NYC, and when I see my clients fall in love with New York, whether for a minute, an hour, a day, or a lifetime, I get such a sense of satisfaction. Whether that happens after a Broadway show, slipping down a secret side street in Chinatown, or chomping on a NY slice, I live this life and love it. I love it even more when I get to share it with visitors from all over the world.”
